The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone

Well known personality, Grand Cardone explains how to achieve massive success. Based on his success in the marketing space Cardone states that most of us set goals that are too low and underestimate what it will take to achieve those goals.

The basic premise of the book is that to achieve 10x results you must be willing to work 10x harder than the rest. A few common mistakes are that we underestimate how much action is needed, sights are set too low, too much time competing with others as opposed to a singular focus and an inadequate expectation of adversity that will come along with lofty goals. And when things are not going as planned, n
ever reduce your target. The answer is always increasing your actions.

Similar to Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink, success is all about assuming control over every facet of your life. Action and responsibility not excuses. The victim card is never the right answer because electing responsibility to a third party will always cause anxiety and fear as your are never fully control of your own destiny.

Key takeaway: There are four different levels of action with level 3 being “normal action. Do what’s acceptable, not what’s required.” To really achieve success we need to do whatever it takes. Be relentless and that will leapfrog you to level 4 of action according to Cardone.

Quote of the book: “As long as you are alive, you will either live to accomplish your own goals and dreams or be used as a resource to accomplish someone else's.”
